 Cranium Superfort
                              Cranium Superfort toy
My kids love to take this out once in a while and just build forts. The boys still love to construct them with cushions from our couches but this adds more stability and building options. It is very colorful and versatile. It uses very easy to assemble magnet connectors so the  kids can easily make forts on their own. We bought Craniums’ Twisty Tunnels and it added more options for the fort. The kids always make a great use of their imagination making forts, boats, space ships and castles. You can pretty much guarantee if Cranium makes it. It must be an incredible toy for the kids. I guess this must have done so well because now Cranium offers variations. The Carnival Club House looks like a ton of fun too.

Legos
                              Legos toys
Just buy any age appropriate legos for the kids. If you want to buy one that the kids think is really cool but is complicated be prepared to put it together and fix it constantly. My youngest boy mostly enjoys the people so the Community Workers set was perfect. It was a expensive  but it has lots of people and thats Jakobs favorite part. My oldest boy loves to build his own cars, spaceships etc... so any big tub of legos is great. Legos constantly entertain my kids for hours. I even have a great time helping them put together the more advanced sets. I usually find great prices on Legos at MyToybox but their selection is kind of limited. Luckily we also have a Lego store located in our local mall.

Play -Doh

                    play doh               playdoh

Everyone loves Play-Doh. My boys love to make basic shapes with Play-Doh then add the silly faces or car and plane pieces to them. They sometimes try to see who can make the longest play-doy rope using the extruding tool. We have a Play-doh activity table that came with some tools and makes it easier to clean up. You can always just buy a few cans and use some old kitchen tools and cookie cutters too. Play-doh is non toxic so it is perfectly safe and a lot easier to mold than clay.

Perler Beads

Perler Ocean Beads Kit                        Perler Pirate Kit

We first tried Perler Beads at camp for Cub Scout. Both Liam and Jakob loved them. The boys kept going to the craft area to make new creations with the beads. Their are all kinds of cool peg boards you can use to create different designs like animals and cars with the beads. Liam loves to use a square peg board and create his own colorful monsters and aliens. We recently bought the pirate kit and Jakob has rainbow colored monkeys everywhere. Perler Beads work by picking a peg board then covering it with different colored plastic beads. After the design is made an adult can use an iron to melt the beads into the shape. Everything imaginable for Perler Beads can be found at Kool Stuff For Kids but, I found that most of the kits and beads are cheaper at Amazon. I plan to get some magnetic tape and let the boys make magnets for our fridge.
